Title

What is it?

Title is your catalogue of job titles — the colored labels you pick when creating an order, project, proposal, or template to describe what job is being done, such as "Window cleaning" or "Moving help." This page is where you manage that catalogue directly: rename titles, recolor them, deactivate ones you no longer offer, or delete ones you don't use.

How to

Add a title

1. Go to Project → Title.
2. Click Create new.
3. Enter a Title.
4. Click away from the field, then click the colored chip that appears to choose a color.
5. Add a Description if you want one.
6. Click Submit.

Edit a title

1. Click the title's row to open it.
2. Update the Title, color, or Description.
3. Click Submit.

Note: If a title is already saved, changing its color from the chip's color picker is saved right away — you don't need to click Submit for the color change itself.

Activate or deactivate a title

1. Select one or more titles using the checkboxes.
2. Click Activate or Deactivate in the bar that appears.
3. Confirm by clicking Proceed.

An inactive title still shows up when picking a title on an order, project, proposal, or template, but with a strike-through and an Inactive label, and it can't be selected.

Delete a title

1. Select one or more titles using the checkboxes.
2. Click Delete.
3. Confirm by clicking Proceed.

Important: A title can't be deleted while it's still used on a booking, project, order, proposal, or template. If that happens, BOS tells you which titles failed and marks them with a red icon in the Errors column until you refresh the page.

Search and filter

• Use the search box to find a title by name.
• Use the Status filter to show View all, Active, or Inactive titles.

What do the fields mean?

Active

Whether the title can be selected elsewhere in BOS, such as on an order. New titles are active by default.

Title

The name shown wherever this job type is picked, such as Home cleaning or Customer visit. Required, up to 255 characters.

Description

An optional note about the title, up to 255 characters.

Errors

Shows a red icon if this title recently failed to delete because it's still in use somewhere. Clicking it repeats the explanation. This clears when you refresh the page.

Good to know

• A brand-new title has no color until you pick one from the chip's color picker — until then it shows with a plain, uncolored badge.
• What you can do on this page — view, create, edit — depends on your permissions, set under People → Users.
• Deleting a title only works if it isn't used anywhere yet. Deactivate it instead if you want to stop it being offered while keeping the history that already uses it.
• You can also create a new title on the fly while picking one on an order, project, proposal, or template — it's added to this same catalogue.
• If Title is missing from your menu, the module may be switched off for your company in Company settings.
