What is it?

Recurring shifts let you set up a shift that repeats automatically — every week, every few weeks, or every month — instead of creating the same shift over and over.

You'll find it under Shift and Scheduling → Recurring shifts.

Note: This guide covers the recurring pattern itself. For everything else about an individual shift — timing, employees, open shifts, punch time — see the Shifts guide.

How to

Make a shift repeat

  1. Open a shift, or start creating a new one.
  2. In the timing section, click Does not repeat.
  3. Choose how often it repeats — every week, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or every month — or set a Template period of several weeks if the days change from week to week.
  4. Choose which days it happens on.
  5. Choose whether it Ends on a specific date, or Never.
  6. Save.

Review a recurring schedule

  1. Go to Shift and Scheduling → Recurring shifts.
  2. Click a schedule to open it.
  3. Click View all shifts to see every individual occurrence it has generated.

Change the recurrence pattern

  1. Open the schedule.
  2. Open the menu on the recurring rules card, and choose Edit Recurring.
  3. Make your changes.
  4. Choose the date the change should apply from, and save.

Stop a recurring shift from continuing

  1. Open the schedule.
  2. Open the menu on the recurring rules card, and choose End Recurring.
  3. Pick the date it should stop on, and save.

Note: This stops future shifts from being created — it doesn't remove shifts that already happened.

Change or delete just one occurrence

Open that specific shift and choose Current shift rather than This and Future Shifts when asked. See the Shifts guide for everything else you can do to an individual shift.

Save a schedule as a template

  1. While creating a shift, open the template picker and choose Create new.
  2. Fill in a name, the shift type, days, times, break, and location.
  3. Save.

Reuse a template

  1. While creating a shift, open the template picker and choose your saved template.
  2. Everything is filled in for you — adjust anything you need to before saving.

Edit or delete a template

Open the template picker, click the pencil icon next to a template to edit it, or open it and click Delete.

What do the fields mean?

Repeats (interval)

How often the shift repeats: every week, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, or every month.

Template period

For patterns that aren't the same every week — choose how many weeks the cycle covers (1 to 8), and pick different days for each week.

Ends

Whether the recurrence has a set end date, or continues until you stop it.

Good to know

  • Recurring shifts requires its own module to be turned on for your company, separate from the regular Shifts module.
  • Each week in the pattern needs at least one day selected.
  • There's no single action to delete an entire recurring series at once — use End Recurring to stop future shifts, and remove individual past shifts separately if needed.
  • A saved template can only be edited or deleted from the template picker while creating a shift — there's no separate template management page.
