What is it?
Map shows where your customers are located, with each customer plotted as a pin on a map. Use it to browse or search your customers by location, filter them by date, employee, area, or zip code, and get directions between two points — most often from your office to a customer, or between two customers.
You'll find it under Project → Map.

How to
Find a customer on the map
- Go to Project → Map.
- Use the Search by customer name… field to find a specific customer, or browse the pins.
- Click a pin to see that customer's name and address.
Filter the map
- Set a Start date and End date, or switch between Day, Week, and Month view.
- Use the Previous and Next arrows to step through the date range.
- Add a filter for Employee, Customer Area/City, or Customer zip code to narrow the pins shown further.
View a customer's orders
- Click the Customers list button to open the list of customers.
- Find the customer and click Show order.
- Click View on an order to open it.
Get directions
- Click a customer pin and choose Get direction — or click the Get directions button to open the panel directly.
- Type the starting point and destination addresses. If you opened the panel from a pin, that address is already filled in for you.
- Choose a travel mode: Car, Walk, or Transit.
- Click Get direction to see the route on the map, along with the travel time and distance.
Fix a missing location
- In the Customers list, look for the red icon next to a customer — it means BOS couldn't find coordinates for their address.
- Click the icon to open the Missing location dialog.
- Use the Search Address field to look up the correct address.
- Select the suggested address, then click Update.
What do the fields mean?
Start date / End date
The date range shown on the map. Defaults to the current month.
View
Switches the date range between Day, Week, and Month.
Employee
Filters the map to customers linked to a specific employee.
Customer Area/City / Customer zip code
Filters the map to customers in a specific area, city, or zip code.
Origin / Destination
The start and end points used to calculate a route in the Get directions panel. Type an address, or open the panel from a customer pin to fill one in automatically.
Travel time / Distance
Shown once a route has been calculated, based on the travel mode you picked.
Search Address (Missing location dialog)
Looks up an address so it can be set as the customer's location. Select a result, then click Update to save it as the customer's address, area, and zip code.
Good to know
- This requires the Standard plan or above, and is only available to admins and owners.
- If Map is missing from your menu, the module may be switched off in Company settings.
- The map plots your customers, not individual orders — use Show order next to a customer to see their orders for the selected date range.
- Fixing a customer's address here updates it everywhere else in BOS, including on their customer record.
- The default travel mode in Get directions is Transit — switch to Car or Walk if that's not what you need.
