How to
Create and send a campaign
- Go to Email Campaigns → Custom Campaigns.
- Click New campaign.
- Click To, and choose your recipients.
- Enter a Subject and write your Email body.
- Click Preview to check how it looks, then click Send now, or choose Schedule and pick a date and time.
Note: You can click Save draft at any point to finish the campaign later.
Choose your recipients
- Click To in the composer.
- Switch between the Customer and Employee tabs.
- Tick the people you want to include, or click Select all matching to include everyone who matches your current filters.
The number of people selected is shown as you go. You can also click Unsubscribed to see who has opted out — they can't be selected, and are left out automatically even if you "select all."
Add a personal touch
While writing the subject or the email body, click the Recipient name chip to insert it at the cursor. Each recipient will see their own name in place of it when the email is sent.
Preview before sending
Click Preview to see the email as your recipient will see it, and switch between Desktop and Mobile to check both.
Track a campaign's results
- Go to Email Campaigns → Custom Campaigns.
- Click a sent campaign to open it.
You'll see when it was sent, how many people received it, and how many opened it. Expand a campaign on the list to see the delivery status for each individual recipient.
Edit or delete a campaign
- Draft and Scheduled campaigns can be opened and edited, or deleted.
- Once a campaign is Sending, Sent, or Failed, it can only be opened to view — not edited or deleted.
Important: Deleting a campaign cannot be undone.
Set up your own sending domain (optional)
By default, campaigns send from a shared BOS address. To send from your own domain instead:
- Click the sender option in Custom Campaigns, and choose to set up your own domain.
- Enter your Domain, registered email, and Display name.
- Add the three DNS records shown to your domain provider (for example Loopia, One.com, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare).
- Once you've added them, click I've added them — verify.
Note: If you're not sure how to add DNS records, click Help me set it up for provider guidance, or ask the BOS team to configure it for you.
Manage plan & pricing
Open Plan & pricing to compare Pay-as-you-go (no monthly fee, priced per email sent) against the Boost add-on (a flat monthly fee for a set number of emails, with a per-email cost for anything beyond that). Activate or cancel Boost from the same screen.
What do the fields mean?
Status
Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Draft | Saved, not yet sent or scheduled. |
Scheduled | Set to send automatically at a chosen date and time. |
Sending | Currently being sent. |
Sent | Delivery has finished. |
Failed | Something went wrong sending it. |
Recipients
Whether the campaign was (or will be) sent to Customers or to Admins & Employees.
Recipient status
Shown when you expand a sent campaign: Sent, Delivered, Opened, Pending, Bounced, Failed, Rejected, Skipped, Spam, or Unsubscribed — the delivery outcome for that individual recipient.
Display name
The name your recipients see in their inbox, instead of an email address. It can be your company name or a person's name.
Sending domain status
- Pending verification — your domain has been added but the DNS records haven't been confirmed yet.
- Verified — your emails now send from your own domain.
- Deactivated — your domain was removed; you can reactivate it or keep using the shared address.
Good to know
- Anyone with admin or owner access can use Custom Campaigns — there's no separate permission or plan requirement to access the page.
- Sending isn't free once you go beyond what's included in your plan: you're charged per email (Pay-as-you-go), or you can add Boost for a flat monthly quota. Check Plan & pricing before a large send.
- People who have unsubscribed are excluded automatically and can't be added back in from here.
- Emoji aren't allowed in the Subject line, but are fine in the email body.
- Setting up your own sending domain is optional — campaigns already send fine from the shared address. Verifying your own domain mainly helps emails avoid spam folders.
- The email body has a maximum length of 50,000 characters.
