Notifications

What is it?

Notifications covers two things: the bell icon that shows recent activity in BOS, and the settings that let you choose which events send you an email or a push notification.

How to

Check your notifications

1. Click the bell icon at the top of the screen.
2. Look under New for anything you haven't seen yet, and Before That for earlier notifications.
3. Click a notification to open what it's about — the related order, booking, or conversation.
4. Click Show More to load older notifications.

Note: Closing the notifications panel marks everything in it as read.

Choose which emails you receive

1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
2. Click Open settings next to Email Notification Settings.
3. Turn each type on or off: Employee absence, Customer requests, Open shifts, Proposals, Enquiries.

Choose which push notifications are sent

1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
2. Click Open settings next to Push Notification Settings.
3. Turn notifications on or off for Orders (with a separate switch for created, updated, cancelled, completed, approved, work time changed, deleted, and reactivated), Messages, Internal time, Employee requests, and Enquiries.

Note: Changes on both settings pages save immediately when you flip a switch — there's no separate Save button.

What do the fields mean?

New / Before That

New is notifications you haven't opened yet. Before That is everything you've already seen.

Notification type toggles

Each switch controls one kind of event. Turning one off stops that specific notification without affecting the others.

Good to know

• The notifications bell isn't shown on Super Admin logins.
• You'll need access to Settings to reach the notification settings pages.
• The bell doesn't update instantly — it checks for new notifications shortly after the page loads, and the full list loads when you open it.
